i know its been done to death but if square doesn't go through with it and "give in" to the public outcry for a remake they would be missing out on one of the greatest investments since the original FF7. 1. anybody check the prices for a USED final fantasy 7 disc det on eBay??? if not, believe me, you would be surprised that $60.00 for USED discs is standard. after that check the prices for an UNOPENED disc set:$300+!!! if square were to release a remake now(or at least sometime soon) they would soon realize that retailors could charge $100+ and they would still make unimaginable profits, not to mention spread the disease(read as: something that is infective; even though i'm refering to disease as a good thing, a very good thing, a very very good thing, a...) that is the unequaled greatness of FF7.( i know some people are going to disagree with me so spare me the hate messages/posts and just create a poll in the forum to see what i mean) 2. are you telling me you wouldn't pay at least $50 for a faithfully remade FF7 on the PS3(no story changes maybe some new extremely minor additions, but i really don't care for those) compared to at least $60 for a USED copy on the PS1? 3. this is going to get posted on other forums by: me and i'm sure others but there isn't anything wrong with public protest is there? i'm not talking marching to the SE USA building but rather you send Square emails letting them know how you feel about their denial of a remake being in progress Square i can't remember the email address but if you search around long enough you can probably find it faster than me(56K dial-up).
oh man, i basicaly have 2 copies of FF7 one with the black label and one with the greatests hits, i can probaly make 2 hundred out of them
FF7 was pretty cool, but there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. FF6 was the FF that got me into Square games, I've replayed it like 12 times and liked it every time. I'd like to see that remade before FF7.
just a graphic revamp.... remove the ugly ass blocky polygons in ff7 as an example.. then it would be an insanely good game damn, I prefer the oldschool 16-bit graphics to these disgusting ff7 characters with hourglasses instead of arms
I jumped aboard FF at VIII, so I missed out on the pre-VIII stuff till my younger nephew let me play FF II and III on his GBA. They kind of reminded me of a cleaned-up version of Knights of Xentar or Cobra Mission! Two NSFW titles if ever there were one!
I'm gonna be honest with you guys. If I had the opportunity to get $100 for a mint copy of my FFVII, I probably wouldn't. The game is a damn classic. I can't part with it.
Swear to God using a PS1 emulator with an FF7 rom runs better than the PC version of FF7. You know, originally that game didn't have a quit button? One hell of an oversight.. they had to add it in a patch, before that they told people to alt+f4 and I'd pay just about anything I could afford for an FF7 remake. Just the same game, THE SAME GAME with good graphics.. on the PC..
y'all will just have to do with the Dirge of Cerberus instead, I guess. It seems like a truly weird mixture of shooter and FPS, from what I've seen...
They did totally revamp it for the US market, however, to the point that it's almost a different game. Still strange though...
lmao. I paid like 20$ usd for a greatest hits ff7 brand new from ebgames.com about 3-4 years ago... I still have it and the discs are mint. But seriously, ff7 was overrated, it was good but it wasn't that good. There were alot of inconsistancies that alot of people don't want to admit to. I could tell you that sometimes cloud is bigger in certain cg sequences and has much more detail than in others. Thats what happens when you have multiple teams making a game where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing so to say. But, to remake it, thats a different story. It would be nice, but I think hardly worth their time. Think about it. You have a game that is now remade and cost square/sony probably more money to produce. You have the same story from a game that was released 8 years ago with nothing new other than improved graphics maybe a couple extras. Even die hard fans get bored, and you can't tell me that you've gotten a classic back after 10 years of not having it and you never actually finished it the second time becuase you got bored. Anyways, you have this new/old game that maybe 1/2 of the die hard fans would buy. 1/4 of them will buy it becuase they want a remake real bad, and just don't care how well its been done. The other half will buy it only to complain that they still like the original game much better. They'll tell the rest of the 50% of the die hard fans this and then they won't buy it. That word of mouth spreads to the people who have never played it before and they don't buy it. Its just not going to happen.
well shit. resident evil had a remake and it was fucking excellent so a FF7 remake would be grand :-D and im pretty fucking sure almost everyone with a ps3 would buy FF7 because if for some reason they decided to remake it, they would go all out and improve the living shit out of it, no matter how shitty teh remake will be the graphics will be the best part and sony fanboys just loooooove graphics so they'll probably buy the game just for the graphics that's why they're paying 600 dollars for correct? not new gameplay, a wii ripoff controller with only like 6 degrees of rotation, and not for the backwards compability, so wha are they paying 600 for? graphics. holy shit im tired its 3:20 am and im speaking nonsense* blu-ray sucksssss niggaaa
i'm still alive (and here) and yeah even though BrentN does have a point or two in there, i would be willing to bet my left nut that if Square did the remake that it would turn them a worthwhile profit. caterpillar: not nonsense, perfect sense.
i wish i would have seen this sooner http://www.petitiononline.com/FF7RMKE/petition.html i'm number 4245, where are you?
I just got a copy for PC and it won't fucking run. Not even with the XP patch installed. I see the 'START (or) CONTINUE' screen, and it stops there.
So true. I have never seen an online petition succeed, usually becuase there are just not enough people who support the idea, or give a fuck.
True, even if you had everyone on the internet sign a petition it wouldn't work. Petitions (internet ones especiall) mean absolutely nothing. And those FF7's are for collectors. You could get a GH FF7 for like $20. How much is Suikoden 2 nowadays? It used to be like $100
