    OK...

My pip-boy keeps telling me to hit 'V' for VATS, but it doesn't do anything. Any help??

I think...but is there something you have to obtain or do so you can use VATS?

You know, I had a similar issue as well. They didn't work for me and then I restarted my game and they were suddenly working. Maybe a bug?

Also, I just realized that if you login to live you get all the achievements and it links to your Xbox Live account. If anyone was thinking about buying the 360 version over the PC version due to achivements, you'll still get them on the PC.

I beat it. Well, the main quest. Still have to go around and check everywhere out. The one thing that this game does really well is the side quests; they aren't half assed, they're actually awesome.

Make sure you check out the other vaults and have your lockpick shill at at least 50. It saves time.

Forget the hunting rifle. Just wait until you pick up one of the assault rifles, 10mm submachine gun, or a combat shotty. Get close to a raider or supermutant and unload a few bursts into the cranial region :D

Once you've "discovered" a location, go to the world map in your pip-boy. Move the cursor over one of the discovered locations, click on it, and you'll have the option to "fast travel" to it. As for exploring the Wastes, I'm pretty sure you're stuck on foot. You run slightly faster when your weapon is holstered.

No. You need to have your weapon unholstered and have someone/something near you that you can target.

It's actually a game worth purchasing, IMO.

Is anyone else having trouble getting money out of this game? Where's a good place to find lockpicks??? Do the mines in minefield respawn? They were like 25 caps a piece.

It was just a raider outpost where they were trying to mine into the vault, but then ran into the ants so they just closed the room off. I didnt actually go down in the mine but I'd guess it just ends.

Yeah it does just end. It funnels down into a tiny tunnel that you're obviously not gonna fit down. I loved the school, quite creepy. Was the second place I explored after Megaton.

I'm in that garden place now, forget what it's called. Heaven or Paradise or some shit. Is that part of the main quest? I seem to be just wandering around not knowing what to do next :-/

In the Quest tab on your Pipboy, select the main story quest, and follow the marker on your map.

And for anyone who nuked Megaton: DO NOT FUCKING TRUST GHOULS. FUCK THEM OH MY FUCKING GOD FUCK THEM SO MUCH.

I pretty much fucked everyone over, but I have a soft spot for old ladies, so I got her family's violin for her. BTW: Stratavari was a real violin maker, so I enjoyed the historical accuracy. It saved her life. :D

Make sure you explore everywhere, especially the downtown D.C. area; the Capitol building is a bit of a letdown, but the other areas are cool.
  15. I only played a couple hours. I managed to get into a brotherhood of steel quest to help them fight super mutants. I got lost now I can't find the freaking BOS dudes at all.

I really wish my lappy was powerful enough for this game, I'd have so much fun at work if it was.

you need to go into the office building up ahead, inside is pretty simple, it's only like one two rooms and a few hallways. Also, make sure you search the rooms thoroughly, there's some good loot in there.

btw, that quest was "broken" for me.
Instead of the guy cowering in fear in a closet, he was already dead. So no 350 exp for me

Durring my times without the Internets I played some fallout 3. Huuuuuuge disappointment. :(

I didn't have high hopes going into it, but they've bastardized my favorite game series worse then I expected :( I felt like I was playing oblivious:fallout mod. in the 5 hours or so I've played it I didn't even crack a smile, the humor was terrible.

    do not want.

yeah that's one thing that is really missing for me is the humor. Where's it at? everything is way too bleak. and wtf? No pop culture references?

    Also, about the story...
Now that i know what Project Purity is supposed to be about...I don't give a damn. water is boring.

The level cap is gay as hell, and there doesn't seem to be a workaround for the 360. I've been maxed since fifteen hours into the game. Stupid. Still a really fun game, but holy hell if that isn't a massive, massive flaw.

Yeah, the game is okay. It's a neat enough diversion, but I've enjoyed GoW2 and Fable 2 more overall.

I never bothered finishing it. It's kinda pretty, but the engine feels very clunky and it's like everything is plastic. I always heard fantastic things about the Fallout series, so the franchise was either totally overhyped, or this muct have been an enormous letdown to the fans of the orignal games.

I was really into this, then i finished the main quest... oh well that was lame. Still a great game, but much of what happened at the end of the main quest felt rushed.
