I love this game but either I suck or I just don't know enough about it to equip the best armor/weapons/tactics. Anyone else have problems fighting more than 6 ppl at a time on normal? I get raped if I have more than 8 enemies. So far I only have the dog, rogue, assassin, sten, alistair and morrigan. No real healing powers yet...and I picked rogue
Morrigan is Claudia Black of Stargate SG1 and Farscape. and not in any sci fi movies that I can remember right now but Tim Curry.
Any one finished the game yet? LOL, they give you quiet alot of different choices towards the ending. The various ending that you can get to are based on your in game choices. I will leave the spoilers... Overall pretty good game.
I have a lvl 18 rogue (thanks to that bug) but then I found most areas level with the character. I've finished redcliffe, the frost haven thingie with the urn and just finished the brecillian forest area. I'm definitely going to play this through again but probably with a mage this time.
The build i finish the game with is a Mage. Specializing in Arcane Warrior and Spirit Healer, very bad ass combination for my style of gaming. I finish the game, its only 53% done. So i can resume and continue playing. Ending is a doozy... The best thing is when you reach a point in game where you can get split outcomes, do save before. Run split story simultaneously with separate saves. I have 4 saves of same game with same character going different paths of game story line.
finally finished boarderland, which was way, way, way to easy. will try soon, watched a friend play for abit, looks great. any advice for an awesome build?
If you build a Battle Mage, then conserve your points, till you get Arcane Warrior. Then apply the points accordingly so you can be good at Melee. That will allow you to wear Heavy armor and with Magic base weapon; i have a sword that do crazy elemental damage with runes. In the end when all is done. You will have a Mage that dont have any specialty, but can cast crazy spells and take the front line and demolish the biggest monster in melee, if you have right spells. Personally i dont use much offensive spells, as i use alot of Passive spells that raise my defense to untouchable levels. If you get Spirit healer like me it will allow you to resurrect any dead teammate. Which comes in handy if you want to direct the mob to your companions while you cut them down from behind. I started a rogue and shooting for Assassin specialization... So far not bad, but in mob attack its not good for now. Overall, who ever you play as or have in your party do a manual setting of Tactics. They really do good then. Its abit time consuming to set up every one tactics but you really can take advantage of each of the party members specialty. Base on your style of play.
I went with blood mage and really just spec'd like a total retard. It's been pretty disappointing and I wish I could respec. After making him mostly a healer, he's become a pretty wicked healer/extra DPS. But I am finally getting the hang of tactics and all that and it's really helping me enjoy battle a lot more. You can actually do some pretty in depth things through tactics. I just finished getting Dwarven help, and the Delvish help. Already looking forward to another play through though. But at this rate that might not be till '10 hits
Picked this up for the mac. Plays well so far. I tried a Mage at first but didn't like my choices of powers and story so I restarted after doing the early stuff before you get Morrigan. Started a rogue ranged spec, like it, but it is getting much harder. I am playing it on hard because I felt normal was too easy, guess I really didn't get the true hardness until after you have free reign on the map. I finally leveled morrigan up so I could heal. There are like no healing pots anywhere, it sucks and not enough mats to collect to make them. Very annoying. For quite a while I have been having to redo battles and barely make it with like one guy left. I have had to really micromanage at times, otherwise my guys aren't that great at protecting the ranged guys. I use Sten and the other grey warden to tank really and to hopefully keep them off of morrigan to do some dps. I ran with the chantry chick for a while but having two archers isn't as good as an archer and a mage. I found a different version of her, I much prefer this look. Here you can see my character and another version of Morrigan I liked. I also picked up the autoloot mod, very useful.
Its a Hackintosh. Intel Q9400 4GB Ram ATI 4870 1GB Plays well, though I wish I could play it windowed. It blacks out my secondary screen in fullscreen mode. Windowed mode crashes. Damn wine shit... Other than that though, Have it on highest details, 2x aa, med textures, and an hd texture pack. Will be upping to high textures, since it seems only certain areas are slow, most are fine. I also realized I had timemachine on, so I turned that off for playing.
Shapeshifter is pretty much worthless. Don't get it. Spirit Healer and Arcane Warrior are where it's at. Also, I love Sten. Also also, make sure to play through the game more than once. It's entirely possible that you killed a character you could have used in your party, or just missed them entirely. I missed the dog and Wynne on my first playthrough.
just got this for ps3 and it came with the stone prisoner expansion i'm a mage my names trafalgdor. he's got a badass beard.
damn there has been alot of buzz around this game lately. i might have to rent this to see whats up, i have too many games on my plate right now to pick up another one. so this and demon's souls are supposed to be epic.
I finished it finally. 68 hours. I want to see the other endings, but not sure if I want to go through the ending gameplay over and over again. I plan on doing another play through but not for a little while. Maybe right before the expansion comes out in march.
I don't think I am even half way done. Playing an hour here and there. My character is a duel dagger cunning rogue.
Same about the progress. I completed Ostagar, Loithering, the tower of magi, warden's keep, redcliffe and I'm currently in the deep roads. My char is a human noble warrior. I havent found any specialization that I want and I'm level 15 (lol). I play as a tank.
Finally finished the game last night. I think it took me around 50 hours, took the girlfriend around 90 (she reads and explores everything). Expansion comes out in two weeks, seems like perfect timing. Best RPG I have ever played, hands down. Better than Zelda, better than FF, better than NWN. I will basically buy anything they put the Dragon Age name on now.
Whoa, better than Zelda and FF, eh? Well, FF 13 comes out next week but I've been meaning to play DA: Origins. Did you play it on PC or console?
