Band Shoots Music Video Using Photo Booth and MacBooks | Mac|Life
lame, i couldve done this with windows movie maker back in 2004
Cool how they did it, but it still looks like an amateur video from the 80's.
It's kind of like taking a picture, adding some crappy, generic Photoshop filter, then pretending to be an artist
AFTER EFFECTS, BABY!
Keyboadist #1: "Hey, I worked hard to learn a talent that wasnt given to me. But you can wash out my face and only leave me identifiable by my hat. I'm lying to everyone, I don't want to be successful or famous."
Maybe some of you are missing the point...?
Photobooth just takes your webcam and Apples real time (RT) cheap effects and applies them as they are displayed/recorded. It's part of OS X.
Just to shoot footage for a standard music video (if things are planned out and go well) on HDCAM cost about $50K-70K in production costs (staff, rentals and consumables). These guys borrowed some laptops and shot it with the built in webcams. Done.
Post-Production looks like it cost a little bit (less than avg) with what was done but the footage pre-defined the post objectives.
The savings was ridiculous not to mention the hype value.... I liked it. If I was in an up and coming band, I'd be looking at this and coming up with similar ideas.
