..and I've never been more excited over a games announcement/release. Blizzard Entertainment -- Check out the teaser picture. Hell has frozen over? Look at all the etchings and satanic shit under the ice. Keep in mind this is less than a week away from the Worldwide Invitational, where Blizzard is said to hold a press conference to announce something huge. This is fucking it guys.. Almost 10 years of waiting and anticipation. Here we go.
There was a ton of dissecting and manipulating the photo on the d2 boards. So I posted this one: http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/4277/ice11ti3.jpg
That's the red herring. What would be the point of the hype and speculation, not to mention the manipulation of the website? Blizzard has never, ever hyped up or teased any game that has already been announced. No open alpha/beta test dates, release dates, etc. It just, to me, would make absolutely no sense. I guess we'll get more hints leading up to WWI this weekend, but I'm convinced 100% that it's Diablo. The first day of WWI (June 28, when the press conference will be held) is the birthday and release date of both Diablo 1 and 2. EDIT: I'm speaking generally of course, not to you superman.
Warcraft 4!! That would be really rad, but kind of strange to release two RTS games so close together. Personally I liked the Warcraft series better than Starcraft.
I just hope it's not a MMORPG. I'll be finishing Morrowind and Oblivion shortly and I'm not interested in a monthly fee. Not that I'm too cheep, I just have an erratic schedule which would make it tough being involved in a guild, etc.
DAY 2 IMAGE: Notice the new markings on the top right of the ice.. HEL RUNE! And now basically a confirmation that yesterdays circular etching on the left side is a Shael Rune.
Blizz has changed the job descriptions of the developers they're hiring for this new project, but the original ads stated: "The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled lead 3D level designer with experience building levels using Maya or other similar 3D level building tools," details the job advertisement for Lead 3D Level Designer. "The ideal candidate has experience creating levels in a senior or lead role on a shipped game." The ad continues: "We would also like for this candidate to have excellent analytical understanding of competitive online play with various Blizzard Entertainment games and mods (real-time strategy, World of Warcraft, Defense of the Ancients, etc.). The lead level designer needs to be able to create fun and interesting environments that look and play great while managing and mentoring a team of additional level designers."
I thought someone linked those to the etchings on Frostmourne in WarCraft? EDIT: Clearly not related to frostmourne...good call for the runes.
It's probably something retarded like last time. Remember when they pulled this shit and then all they did was update the battle.net website? Blizzard is pretty predictable, they generally mention if they have an unannounced project to build hype. They haven't hinted at anything in the works recently.
Yeah they have. They talk about "Team 3" all the time, in almost any interview regarding 'future plans'. They have 200~ devs for WoW, 40~ for StarCraft 2, and 40~ on "Team 3". Weird. Supposedly they're even working on a completely new franchise, outside of the "big 3" lol.
I am going to reinstall D2 later. Too bad my accounts are probably gone and all my high-level characters deleted.
Yeah, I realized as I was clicking post that I'd read something about a 3rd project a while back. I edited, but I didn't make it very obvious.
DAY 3 IMAGE: The new rune is the Protess rune/sign from Starcraft. Meaning the first days rune probably wasn't Diablo, but that's okay. The ice is breaking away, and a red mist/steam/vapor is coming through. Pretty interesting stuff.
So we have a ruin from each of the three franchises now. Could we be seeing a game that unites all three worlds? And the css file was 23.jpg today. If you believe that these numbers stand for letters we have D_I_W. Chris your bringing out the fanboy in me too. I love blizzard games, played everyone on launch since Warcraft: Humans and Orcs. I think Diablo was probaly the game that got me hooked on PC gaming too.
