so i still havent bought another 360 yet.. and im itching to play some FPS game. i wanna try something on my pc now that i got a bigger monitor, i'd like to see what its like playing an fps. problem is.. my computer is archaic OLD. nvidia 6600, 2GB ram, athlon 64+ 2.41ghz, windows 7. so im stuck trying to figure out something beautiful and nice to play. HL2 is out of the question unless theres an awesome mod. ive already beat it on the 360 and dont feel like playing it. i still never played doom3 all the way through. dunno if the first stalker will play nice, but i consider it. i tried crysis, lol, wont even get past the menu screen on this computer, lol dont wanna play far cry 1 and 2 i already played those. need new fps with good graphics to play.
New FPS's pretty much all require better computers. Have you tried TF2? Or maybe giving Counterstrike source a go? Or..Quake Live
How about the FEAR games? They run pretty good on a wide variety of systems. Story line is decent too, plus there are expansions.
Dude. I have a 3.2ghz Pentium 4, 1GB ram, Windows XP. You'll find something. Try some of the original Call of Duty games?
Oh, that reminds me. Load up Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Do the Omaha Beach landing. Probably one of the best gaming moments of my life. I'm sure it's not as impressive now but man, it was fun.
Grrrr. You computer is much better than my own! I am exceedingly jealous of you! If you have your CoD (classic) still, you can fire that up at max resolution. Or Unreal Tournament 2004
Whoa, Giants was one wierd ass game... I should look for it again, even though it was riddled with bugs.
I installed quake 3 Arena and it ran super fast and the announcer's voice sounded like Alvin the chipmunk. LOL
Ah yes! All the old Old OLD school games, with a revamp! These all run okay for me, with my lowly AthlonXP 3000+ and 7600GS, so your system shouldn't have any problem with it whatsoever! Duke3D with High Resolution Requires the duke3d.grp file. Doom Classic (you have to already have the game wads for Doom, Doom 2, Plutonia, and/or TNT) with Risen3D Quake Classic with the Darkplaces port, and high resolution textures (I had to find and use Rygel's SMALL texture pack[direct download link] for my 7600GS to run acceptably.) and nifty pretty-water effects.
Thats nothing, I've got a p4 2.4 Ghz, 1.5 GB ram, Crappy onboard graphics, Windows XP Home (my good computer) But as for the OP, try out www.quakelive.com ; Its not new per say, but it came out last year and its free. It's basically Quake 3 + expansion on your web browser.
well, I have a few original boxes laying arount. UT4 and Painkiller + expansion. I'll hook up your collection if you want Edit: I have Prey laying around also
