So I was playing soccer last night, and I went after this guy on the other team with the ball. He tapped it a little too far ahead, I was running full speed to intercept, which made him pick up speed.

Now we're both about the same height, and as we both attacked the ball, he brought up his arms to protect himself, but he brought his elbows into the mix. He caught me in the bridge of my nose and into my forehead.

I was stunned for a moment, had to check to make sure he didn't break my nose, but the rest of the game, I was totally out of it. Went home after, went to bed with a splitting headache, sore neck (my head snapped back a little bit on the collision).

Today, I'm disoriented, constant headache, ears ringing/hurting every now and then.

Think I might have a minor concussion. It sure feels weird.

I'm not a doctor, but I think you should get that checked out ASAP. Liam Neeson's wife was walking around and seemed fine after her head injury too, right up to the moment where she died!

Don't fuck around with a bang on the head. Go to the hospital asap, especially if you had a splitting headache!

Minor concussion. No need for a CT. Neurologist says I need to take it easy for a week or so.

No soccer for a week, and I have like 3 games coming up! :-(

I guess it could have been worse. I could have missed a month's worth. That would have been brutal!

Glad it worked out. But yeah, even suspected concussion injuries have to be checked out. Better safe than sorry.

Uggghhh...minor concussion. Hate to see what a major one can do. And here I thought Sidney Crosby was just being a little bitch all that time.

Sunday, went to my sons friends birthday party which was at a local hotel (waterslide party). Wow...talk about bad. The second I stepped into the pool area, the smells and sounds reverberating all around=instant painful headache and no one had any pills. As soon as I got home, down some tylenol, slapped some ice on my head, and actually slept for two hours.

Monday, I was feeling a lot better and went to work. By 3pm, my head, out of the blue, just starts pounding again for no rhyme or reason. Went home, slapped some ice on my head and my wife had to come wake me up because I had to go coach soccer.

    Tuesday, minor aches and pains.

Today, head is hurting a little this morning.

And of course, all aches and pains are accompanied by super sensitivity to light (sunglasses are a must on sunny days!) and dizzy spells/disorientation.

I hope this goes away as I have to go out of town on work next week for a couple of days, and damn...I have to rent a vehicle.

How long did you doctor tell you to anticipate those symptoms? Seems a little long to me. I had a pretty nasty head injury when I was 11-12, but I can't recall at this point what it felt like or how long it went on. But then again I had full-on amnesia for 24 hours...

Fuck...after going a weekend without a single major symptom, the 2-day streak was broken yesterday after work when I just started getting a splitting headache.

It's now been over three weeks since it freakin' happened. FML. And there's zero doctors can really do about it. Double FML. And painkillers just don't seem to help. The only thing that does is slap an ice pack on my head and go to sleep.

Even the most minor of traumatic head injuries tend to have extremely long-lasting effects. Hope you feel better soon.

Bummer man, head injuries are no joke. It's funny how we are just starting to figure that out.

Hope you get better soon, it must be frustrating.

Extremely frustrating. I paid like $400+ this summer to play soccer for two teams, and I have played a total of 5 games in the last 2 months between the two teams. What a waste of money.

And it affected my coaching as well. I had to cancel practices because I couldn't focus. Thank god the kids season finished up this past weekend.
