Well yeah, who do you think has the bigger advertising budget? The network is going to bend to the biggest checkbook. Now should the FCC step in and regulate and push for fairness? Probably, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
But yeah, with my own CO2 system now I fully intend on kegging some root beer and cream soda kits. It's cheap and convenient.
The same thing has been happening on Store shelves for as long as I can remember. Poor Fanta and Vesta...
In a semi-unrelated note: Whatever happened to Chocolate soda? I remember always having that at family Christmas reunions in my childhood, but now it's nowhere to be found...
This story, if played right, will probably end up being an even bigger benefit to Sodastream than if they'd just let the original advert play as scheduled.
Soda Stream diet soda is way better than coke or pepsi offerings imo.
CBS also did this recently with CNET, forcing CNET to pull their CES best in show for a DVR that automatically skips commercials. Now CNET isn't even allowed to be involved in the CES awards anymore. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/technology/2013/01/ces-ditches-cnet-after-cbs-scandal/61653/
It's how big companies get bigger. It's the American way.
Guess it wasn't banned!
^^^ So it did end up playing? Maybe the negative backlash from the anti-competitiveness of the whole thing forced their hand?
Yup, had just aired. Either negative pressure or just some stirring up the press.
Did it play before, after, or during the power outage break?
Now they're going on about how Sodastream ads were barred from Britain for denigrating the soda industry, and the problems with Palestinians over their factory on occupied West Bank land.
... What is with that company.
They aired an alternate commercial for the Super Bowl. Here's the original:
I don't buy colas or soft drinks at all. But I may get a sodastream. My favorite drink is sparkling water, plain and on the rocks.
well, now i'm interested in whatever the hell this is.
and now i'm not.
good on them for using sucrose, but sucralose causes some serious headaches whenever i eat/drink anything made with it. any sugar substitue does really. sodas made with HFCS has that syrupy consistency to it, but at least it doesn't make my head feel like a punching bag.
Could sodastream help me make this? Having mentioned Chocolate Soda, suddenly I have a craving...
sodastream is a new fangled seltzer bottle.
Thank you for the useless LMGFY link...
Only useless it you don't use it!
CO2 ftw! but that clown looks kinda creepy in a Pennywise-esque way.
