is anyone having any problems burning cds or dvds?

im trying to burn an iso
first i installed an old nero 6 hoping it would be compatible, but i had some issues. uninstalled it, installed nero 9. same thing, couldnt even install it. cdburnerxp showed signs of working but progress stayed 0% for 40minutes. it was doing nothing. finnally i tried the builtin iso burner, STILL, "burning" but doing nothing for over 30 minutes.

WTF. i can read dvds and whatever i put in the drive, i just cant burn anything.
maybe some files got botched or deleted during the installation of old junk

    anyone having problems?

ive used nero 6, imgburn, and magic iso, haven't had any issues.

This is with a lite on burner, and win7 x64 7100 using the stock drivers

edit:could it be a driver issue? you said the built in didn't work either...

    imgburn works.

i dunno what fixed it but.. i uninstalled my ide drivers from device manager.
then i reinstalled GART driver and IDE driver from the nforce remix package. win7 blacked out, had to manually reset to get my display back.. probably fucked more shit up.

    installed imgburn and it works..

edit: thanks alot.. imma try others again just in case.
oh how imma miss nero 6.x Now i got the paranoid feeling that my windows install is all fucked up deep down inside.. the urge to reformat/reinstall will probably get to me by weeks end.

New win7 builds are put up almost weekly, might as well install the newest version or wait till next month for the RTM.

ya i'm waiting until RTM to install it, then i'll use it as my main OS. be happy to finally rid of XP. Vista is just a tad sluggish on my system.
