    Fox News Boycott -

I'm so glad I work in a business that only deals with businesses and don't have to deal with this sort of shit on any level

Asking people to boycott it is a little pointless because the people who don't like it already don't watch it, I doubt that's going to get anyone who likes Fox News to quit.

Eh, there are people trying to boycott everything out there for one reason or another, this is kind of a 'who cares' thing.

No, they're asking people to boycott anyone who advertises with them. I fully support not watching something if you don't like it, but apparently if you want to sell to certain groups (say......conservatives!) you are not allowed to anymore

I bet most people that are for this boycott haven't watched more than a few minutes of the network and only sound bites or youtube videos. I watch, listen to and, read from several different places. They want FOX boycotted because it's continuously #1 in the ratings.

It's a shitty news channel that claims to be "Fair and balanced" when it's indeed full of right wing propaganda zealots.

They are asking for both, the first thing they ask is to stop watching it:

Fox news is as far to the right as MSNBC is to the left. i say, the whole lot is nothing but a bunch of liars and cheats. there is no news station out there that is fair and balanced, CNN tries but fails many many times.

I love how "Open Minded" people don't like the idea of an opinion that differs from theirs. Let's call for a boycott!! Hypocrites as are some of you.

You don't watch it. You listen to propaganda. I'm still wondering why it's #1 in the ratings?

I responded that way because you seemed to ignore the piece about boycotting the advertisers. they are specifically asking people to boycott the companies who advertise there. no one gives a shit who watches or doesn't (like you said, its not going to do much), but boycotting the advertisers is different

    Tac,

You must really worship O'Reilly, don't you? That's his only defense at any sign of criticism. "But!! But! We are Popular!!!" And you repeatedly bust it out just the same.

Crack cocaine is popular. Smoking is popular. Child abuse is popular. Hell, murder is popular. That doesn't mean it's right, that just means a lot of people do it.

by saying that, aren't you being hypocritical? they criticize your beliefs and you get very defensive because they challenge what you believe, unless your not "open minded"...

Yes c'mon Fiddy. Is that your argument? I Love O'reilly? Supporting Obama and leaning to the left is popular here too but I didn't jump on that bandwagon. Am I popular here? Hell no but, freedom of speech is still allowed on this forum as it should be on the air waves. I see as usual you have no counter argument as to why FOX IS so popular though. What do you care? Your rich anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean with this statement. I am open minded even though I believe a certain way about things. I've never called for a boycott of MSNBC, CNN, Huffington, Air America........oh wait no one was listening anyway or, Media Matters etc. I'm all for free speech. Just don't make blanket statements if you're not truly informed.

Thank you so much for your consistently useless political input in all of these news threads! Yes, we know you're liberal. We didn't forget. Thanks! :D

Just because someone else reports something and it has opinion, doesn't mean you have to believe it. Or better yet! Get pissed off because someone might be biased. I don't like MSNBC but I watch it just to see what Keith Olberman has to say, I'm not going to get pissed off at him and never buy any product that advertises on the channel, because I live in this little place called America, where we're allowed to think on our own.

This board is getting worse by the day. If you don't like Fox News don't watch it. Same for CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, and whatever the fuck else is out there. O'Reilly has an opinion. Guess what? So does Olberman. Welcome to the 24 hour news cycle. They need to fill 24 hours so opinion based shows get aired. It also seems that people like the opinion shows since O'Reilly, Olberman and the like are the highest rated shows on their networks.

I agree with Tac. It is hypocritical to call for boycotts just because a station's opinion differs from yours. That goes both ways. With how many fucking cable stations there are, isn't there enough room for differing opinions?

    LOL.

Your argument is it's popular so it MUST be right.

I"ll tell you why it is #1 in the ratings. Because a lot of people watch it. That's the only reason. Not because it is good, not because it is right, not because the truth, because a lot of people watch it. That is what ratings are, all they measure is viewership. To draw anything else from those ratings is simply foolish.

    That is my argument.

And your still on the "I'm rich" thing? Wow.

Yeah, MSNBC is every bit as bad, instead of O'Reilly and Hannity you have Olbermann and Maddow. They all suck.

It's almost like this is a political thread.

Maddow is no where near Olbermann or anyone on fox. If you watched her you would have seen her grill all sides.

I have, and do watch her and Olbermann, just like I listen to Limbaugh and Hannity when I can.

They're all the same to me.

E: Though the "Great American" catchphrase spewing Hannity annoys the shit out of me, but I like to keep track of the fringe wackos, what can I say?

To get more into Maddow grilling: She poops on Obama when he doesn't fit her ideals, same as when Limbaugh would poop on Bush for not being right wing enough. Like I said, same people different sides/audiences.

Complaining on a opinion based show is not the issue I have. I watch a show knowing full well where the hosts opinion lies.

The issue is when half truths and lies are used to support their opinions or to push their agenda.
