Make sure to watch in 1080 p / full screen!
It was mesmerizing to say the least. Humans undergoing disintermediation right before our eyes.
As neat as automation may be, I'm reminded of an old (1969) song when i watch those vids:
Which is why we need a Basic Income. Eliminates welfare and unemployment, feeds the soon to be unemployed populace preventing food riots while still encouraging work or entrepreneurship for those who want more than the basics.
What really concerns me, is not that people are being removed from the manufacturing scene so much as our technology isn't overcoming greed
and fallibility. For instance, great leaps have been made in autonomous vehicles. But the industry can't even get components right. Just look at the safety
recalls this year: airbags, ignition switches, wiring harnesses, fuel systems. All potentially deadly and now we're supposed to accept autonomous vehicles
made by those same greedy asswipes?
The newest tech for transportation is awesome but vulnerable to humans screwing it up just to make/save a buck.
