Roughly halfway I think, once you finish that level.
I got off early yesterday just to be able to shooter for a few hours. Really got into the gameplay. so far the game is running smooth as silk. Not even so much as a hickup. Stats are 8800gts,E6700,2 gigs Mushkin extree and Vista ultimate. Repeat, Z"smooth as silk. I actually had more problems with getting XP to work right with my games. This game is foreshadowing games to come? Woo-hoo! Manhunt2 just got reworked and rated M...double whammy from 2K.
Man, this game is just twisted...Do you guys stop to read all the pictures on the walls and whatnot? I really like the audio logs.
The Steinman scene was just sick. When he shows off the three girls hanging and the cutting of the girl that's still alive.
The atmosphere really gets me into the game. Any other fast-paced FPS wouldn't do that to me. Great game, so far.
The atmosphere, the ads, the time period. I love it all. Anyone heard about manhunt2, is it as scarey as they'd have us believe?
Got the second ending last night. One more achievement to go and I'll put this down for a while.
I'm off today, they asked what's wrong and I told them my plasmids were low.
Yeah, these Big Daddies are hard as shit. It takes so much firepower to kill them!
I like how they knock on the walls so the little sister can come out of her hole. That's pretty innovative. When it's safe for her to come out.
Buy this game. Buy it. Buy it.
Halo 2 was a shitty ass game; Halo 3 looks like it's coming along quite nicely.
I've never seen a shittier online community than I've seen with Halo 2. Not even CS.
EDIT: I feel the same way about Final Fantasy as you feel about Halo, so I can see where you're coming from.
Final Fantasy games have substance. I can see how they might feel rehashed but FFXII's fighting scheme is quite interesting. What do you dislike about the series?
Electro plasmate (is that a word?) them, hit them in the 'eyes' with the electric shotgun rounds or armor piercing rounds. I can't use the grenade launcher, as I'm affraid of smackin one of those lil' sisters down...trying to save them all.
I shot a few big daddies point blank with the rocket launcher and the little sisters didn't feel a thing. I don't think you can harm them besides harvesting/freeing them.
The Halo franchise sucks complete ass.. period. I never understood the appeal..
Like I said almost 2~ years ago, it seems like the Halo franchise were for kids that couldn't afford computers to play the "real" games, so they settled for second-best (console based shooters). Only now are console games being put out that are on-par with PC game graphics/licenses.
I haven't out of fear of harming the lil'minx's, well now, I'll plaster one of the big guy's and try it out.
If you try shooting them before killing the Big Daddy, you should get a message that says something like "Little sisters cannot be harmed while the Big Daddy is alive". So feel free to blast away I like to use that crossbow weapon, especially if you get the damage upgrade for it. If you're lucky you can kill them with 4 or 5 of the "trap bolts", or 7-8 of the other types.
I'm at the part right after you fight all the splicers in Fort Frolic. When they've set up a bunch of trip wires all over the room. Percentage complete?
You mean just after you try to take the bathysphere, then you have to come back into the big hall and all the tripwires are there? That's probably around 50% complete.
Been playing as much as I can in this, not harvesting any little sisters, trying to find them all. Trying to max out my research atm. Are there going to be anymore god damn nitro splicers? I don't think I've seen more than like, two, since I got the camera. Rosie's are nowhere to be found, also.
I just did something involving a core, for whereamI-ness.
EDIT: Yeah wiskas, the sisters are invincible until the big daddy is dead, I think. I use grenade launchers on them all the time. (Though an upgraded shotgun with electro-buck works magnificently.
There are more of both types in the later levels, although the nitro splicers still aren't all that common compared to the others. The maximum research I ever got from them was something like "a permanent 15% chance that enemy grenades will be duds".
I might go explore the medical ward and spam some on the same ones; I plan to check all the old areas for journals anyways, to try for that achievement
That's what I did.. just hit up the areas you've been to already for more nitro splicers.
A few of the journals you can't go back and get if you've missed em.. mainly the first few in the intro area and one later on. I had to play through again to get the research achievement but I'm 1000/1000 now.
There was actually a shitload of them right after I made that post. All I'm missing now is Bouncers, a little Rosie, and a little Little Sister.
Nitro splicers are easily subdued with the pipe wrench, if you can take some damage.
Man, I love circlestrafing Big Daddies with the Thompson out... it just feels right. When you've got the two speedboost gene tonics added it makes it fun. I will say that towards the end Big Daddies got way too easy.
I'm trying to peel myself away from the pursuit of Gears of War's 'Seriously' achievement long enough to beat it on hard and save all the little bitches...
Oh, it's not the fighting scheme or how the series plays; that's fine. All of the stories just seem really... girly/dramatic/stupid to me.
I have to disagree with you. When Halo came out in 2001, it's graphics were better than (or at least on par with) anything out on PC. It's a cycle. Consoles>PCs for graphics, PCs surpass, new console comes out, rinse and repeat.
I will say that wsad is the best setup for anything ever, though.
I never had a problem with the franchise until Halo 2; the single player was shoddy, and the multiplayer is filled with tools. Also, Halo 2 seemed way too... gimicky, gameplaywise.
I'll agree that Halo isn't the best shooter ever made (or even in the top 5), but it's still better than you make it out to be.
