    Preferably for under $75.

Been getting into baseball a little and have been to a couple Royals games this year--even before they got hot. Sometimes I want to see the birds in the yard and the birds at the neighborhood pool at the bottom of my property.

    Scissor- tail Flycatcher anyone?

what size do you want to carry around? Biggest thing is the weight and size of bigger lenses (which ultimately means better!).

I'd see what Nikon offers at $100. If you want something very portable you'll get a nice set

I have monarch 8x42 waterproof etc i think they were $170 but it's about the biggest I'd want to carry most places.

There's a lot of cheap binocs out there. It all depends on what you are comfortable packing around.
Buyer beware: you really only get what you pay for when it comes to optics.
For stationary viewing I prefer a spotting scope. For outdoor sports where mobility is key, I have a simple cheap pair of Bushnell binocs.
I'm not going crashing around in the mountains with an expensive pair. I am kind of contemplating a cheap night vision monocular though.
If I don't get one of those, I'm going to get a night vision game trail cam just for shitzengiggles.
