You know what's awesome? When your kid gets sent home from school with lice, and then right when you've used up all your work sick time for that, she gets a horrible cough and you have to take 3 more days off of work. Then the day she can go back to school, she kicks you three times in the balls while you're struggling to put her pants on, because "I don't want to go to school!". Then mom tries to brush her hair while she throws punches at her and you have to hold her arms while she cries. But the best part is when you finally drop her off at school and you feel totally defeated, she gives you the biggest hug you've ever gotten and she kisses you and says "I love you daddy". You set her down to go to work feeling a little better, and she looks at you and says "one more hug!" and suddenly it's all okay and you don't care about all the shit she just pulled. Being a dad is hard, and you're gonna have some shitty days, especially early on, but the good parts always outweigh the bad.
