Except the first three years, his administration deported more people than all 8 of Bush's. The right is always complaining that we don't need more laws but rather stricter enforcement of current laws. Obama does just that and gets called out on trying to win political favors? Seriously, what can the dude do besides step down that will make you all happy?
I'd vote for Ryan long before I'd vote for Romney. I think the repubs got it backwards. It's not a matter of A)republican, B)democrat. For me, it's a matter of C) none of the above.
LOL, "President Obama, who pledged to establish the most open and transparent administration in history, on Monday surpasses his predecessor’s record for avoiding a full-fledged question-and-answer session with White House reporters in a formal press conference. President George W. Bush’s longest stretch between prime-time, nationally televised press conferences was 214 days, from April 4 to Nov. 4, 2004. Mr. Obama tops that record on Monday, going 215 days - stretching back to July 22, according to records kept by CBS Radio’s veteran reporter Mark Knoller." So what. Most 1st responders will still vote for Mitt regardless. Unions need to go away. I couldn't stand the fact that I was forced to be a member of The FOP and had to pay dues. EDIT: IMHO Unions bankrupted GM and Chrysler. Collective bargaining for police and fire during a time when cities are close to bankrupt or already are is shameful. The FOP, UAW and, The UEA can all go pound sand.
The Mustang, Crown Victoria, F-150 and, the fact their vehicles don't suck is why the union didn't hurt them. Plus they made some strategic financial moves prior to the crash.
... so, by your accounts, building cars that "suck" wasn't why GM got in trouble, but the Unions. And the fact that Ford didn't have problems isn't because Unions don't suck, but that their cars don't suck... I am sensing a mismatch here...
No let's try this again. ALL unions suck. Ford's vehicles have saved them in spite of their union workers. F-150 is a workhorse. The Crown Vic was probably the #1 fleet vehicle by government (it's out of production now I believe.) The Mustang brought out the kid in the older generation and turned the younger generation on to the retro look.
Switch the word "Unions" with the other word "Humans", and you might be onto something. All organizations composed of humans suck, and they suck for the exact same reason; because there are humans in them!
So get rid of union delegates and presidents of the unions and replace them with............ I kinda like the idea of Skynet being in charge. Even HAL couldn't subdue the sense of entitlement the workers have become accustomed to.
That's not what you said. You blamed the unions for GM's bankruptcy and are now back tracking when the fact that a company's success starts with good management is pointed out to you (isn't that why companies pay CEO's so much money). You can hate unions all you want (believe it or not I'm not pro union either) but you can't just make shit up to justify your hatred for them.
I'll try this again. Should I write it in crayon so that you don't claim I'm backtracking (<---one word by the way)? The union didn't kill Ford ONLY AND BECAUSE their vehicles sold so well in general. Had their vehicles been shit like Chrysler and GM were selling, Ford would have required a bailout because, some jackoff thinks he needs $25 or more per hour, a full pension and, healthcare covered in full for hold a pneumatic socket wrench and occasionally using it in between 8 breaks a day. Now honestly, where am I backtracking? You do this shit with me every 10-15 posts. You either don't comprehend what I've typed or have just skimmed over it. Argue the point with me all you want but please read what I post. STOP IT DAMMIT!!!!
Let me bold what your original post said; You can write in whatever medium you want but that's what you typed. Unions didn't bankrupt GM or Chrysler, bad management did and you further support that claim by showing how, ford, made better cars. Unless you are trying to tell me unions also decide what cars get made your argument is BS and has nothing to do with the unions. Ford has unions and was doing well. GM and Chrysler had unions and wasn't doing well And your argument is that it's the unions fault for GM and Chrysler for being in the position they were in. So, maybe you aren't backtracking, your argument is just wrong and without merit.
Guys, guys, guys. What Tacdriver is trying to say is that union workers are lazy and entitled. Because really, people working, especially in labor intensive jobs for year after year, shouldn't expect a decent wage to support their families, retirement so they don't have to work into their 90s, and access to basic and affordable healthcare. Won't someone please think of the poor plutocrats who can't afford their second summer homes because their workers demand a livable wage for their labor!
In your sarcastic and obviously exaggerated yet simplified summation, you hit the nail on the head. I'm wondering, did you have to simplify and twist my words so it was easier for YOU to understand or, do you think you're smarter than most and have to dumb stuff down for us regular folk.
I think people (humans) are the cause of all our woes. Greedy, power hungry, lazy, entitled dependent, people. Unions do not help but can have a purpose so long as they do not exceed the ability of economic factors to meet demands. People always want someone else to be the ones who suffer from a bad economy.
No translation was needed, up or down. It's quite clear you feel that healthcare and the ability to not work your entire life is absurd if you don't own or manage the company.
Shall we start throwing the food and feces now? This argument has taken a turn for the worse, in an "I'll be insulting because I AM RIGHT!" kind of way... All of you go sit in a corner, until you've calmed down enough to be reasonable in your disagreement!
I didn't know I was being insulting. I apologize to my friends on the left for standing my ground. No hard feelings.
Unions suck. They were needed before the implementation of labor laws. Now they just exist to extort money from companies and line the pockets of the union leadership.
Yeah, I'm watching what's going on in Chicago right now and thinking that the biggest extortion is by guv employee unions against the taxpayers.
