Anyone watching Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann? It's one of the best mecha series I've ever seen. Inspirational without taking itself too seriously. :-D
When I get the comp up and running again will have to catch-up on all of the series I'm missing out on.

    I'm watching Gurren Lagann.
Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb!

I'm also currently watching Claymore (awesome) and Naruto Shippuuden.

Hmmm...haven't paid much attention to it. It's mainly the story, voice acting and characters that draw me to this series.

I haven't seen a new episode of Tengan Toppa Gurren-Lagann since the one where the Princess was rescued from the General in charge of "female companions" for the king. Have new ones come out? I'm kind of swamped in anime at the moment. In addition to catching up on Ghost In The Shell SAC: the 2nd gig at Veoh.com, I'm watching these:

<-- Claymore ** (points at avatar)
    Darker Than Black *
    Lucky Star
    Hayate the Combat Butler
Seirei no Moribito (Guardian of the Sacred Spirit) *
    Lovely Complex
History's Strongest Disciple, Kenichi (Kuro-Hana finally caught up with the backload, and Doremi is just one episode behind)
Angel Heart (one new episode a month, but it's worth it) *
    Monster Princess AKA Princess Resurrection {Kaibutsu Oujo}
    Denno Coil
El Cazador (from the makers of Madlax. A typical Bee-Train romp)
Devil May Cry (Trish and Lady, FTW)
Edit: Polyphonica too. I don't know how I missed that one.

    * High score on the Goofometer
** Also recommended, but it's gory as all get-out in places. Torture abounds...

Is Darker than Black really that good? I've been reading that it moves along kind of slowly but I haven't had time to check it out yet.

Well, I like it, anyhow, enough to recommend to others. Your mileage may vary, though. Neither this one, nor Seirei No Moribito are non-stop action-packed anime (though DTB comes close), but they're really good as more adult oriented anime (as in MATURE, not XXX).

I could do without the occasional appearance of the clueless detective and his wacky sidekick, but even they don't detract too much from the atmosphere of DTB.

I like DTB and yes it does get slow but it still keeps my interest. I'm hooked on Seirei No Moribito it's one of the reasons for the upgrade due to the widescreen format and my old set-up choking on those large .mkv files.

All i've watched is cowboy bebop and black lagoon and I love those both so much.

Can anyone recommend something in the same vein?

I need some new series. Naruto Shippuuden, bwuh?

That being said. Can someone upload (or email @ Nosemaster@gmail.com) me the early Claymore episodes? I can't get a decent torrent, the one I'm doing now has like 1 seed.

Just nab them from the Eclipse archive, or watch the stream from Anime6.org (generally slow, sometimes down, and usually requires retrys in the afternoon, but it's worth the trouble.)

Unfortunately, I don't have room on my HDD for storing these, so I watch and release. I watch the h.264 mkv version in any case, which some folks don't bother with.

There is the manga version of Claymore too. This series is unusual in the amount of closeness between the anime and the manga. I warn you though, if you do, you will have "spoileritis" and "why-didn't-they-put-that-in?" syndrome.

For Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop, the closest I can think of is Angel Heart (a better done sequel to City Hunter. Saeba Ryo is now a Dad!) and Darker than Black, but these are slower paced than Black Lagoon.

I have all the earlier Claymore episodes on my harddrive. I'll be back at home on the 31st. So if you don't have them by then, feel free to PM me, I'll send them over.

don't believe in yourself, believe in the me who believes in you!

i'm more of a manga guy than an anime watcher these days, reading the manga gives you high expectations for the anime that usually aren't fulfilled. post filler bleach and naruto, wtf, they strayed too far from the manga and it got shitty. same with claymore, the manga was excellent (it's on hiatus :() but i couldn't get into the anime.

nose, if you don't mind youtube quality, check out crunchyroll.com - streaming asian media for the masses!, they have most anime series that aren't liscensed, including claymore.

pretty much all i watch these days is gurren lagaan and one piece.

i read naruto(it's been fucking great, btw) bleach, one piece, d. gray man, gantz, blue dragon, fairy tail, 666 satan, air gear, vagabond sometimes, claymore. if any of you guys are interested in these manga let me know, i have complete/up to date collections of most of them.

Crunchyroll is pretty awesome. Started watching Naruto Shippuuden with the woman using it, even tho I never finished the original series (lost interest around the NarutoxSasuke fight). Prolly gonna start Claymore by my lonesome. Good site.

veoh.com tends to have higher quality than crunchy, for the few anime that sneak past. http://anime6.org (when it's up) is kind of a link aggregator, but automatically playing in large screen mode. They've got a nice long list of animes linked, including Claymore, Ghost in the Shell 1st and 2nd gig, Fate Stay Night, Elfen Lied, and more...

AnimeEpisodes.Net - Free 24/7 Anime On Demand! has a small list of good anime too.

i didn't really like claymore until you started seeing a lot more veracious eaters. they are the coolest part of the series, especially the abyssal ones. (i'm pretty sure the anime has gotten that far)
