Cheaper prices on everything to make way for the iPhone 4S...hmmm...that sounds like trademark/patent infringement in my mind. Galaxy S...iPhone 4S...sheesh...come'on apple. And honestly...it looks like apple's innovation and evolution just hit a brick wall.
OP forgets the 3GS precedent Apple set. And being that the 4 has sold ridiculously well, Apple doesn't need to innovate much to keep the lead. Personally I'm meh to the device. Hoping when I'm ready to upgrade that the 5 has NFC and a 4" screen.
I just wish my company would cough up for a data plan, or let me pay the difference. This Razr phone is killing me!
Exactly! Oh well, I'm on the cycle of buying every other product anyway (ie, 3G->4->5). The camera looks killer though and so does the voice control, neither of which is a major selling point for me. Oh and it looks like sprint is finally getting in on the action.
Camera is a huge selling point for me so I'll likely be getting the new device. I have a 3GS now and I feel like it's pretty slow at the moment. 64GB seems pretty awesome too
Sounds like another disappointment to me. Voice to text? That's been on android phones for over a year. Just another device with a ton of hype and not a lot of upgraded features. I'm sticking with android. There's a reason why Google has twice the market share (and climbing) that Apple does.
"There's a reason why Google has twice the market share (and climbing) that Apple does." Yeah, because everyone and their mother makes an android phone and they are available on every carrier.
And that's a bad thing? Competition sparks innovation and price reduction. Apple releases new colors, copy + paste, voice to text and calls it innovation. In fact, their big selling point is a dual-core 1ghz cpu. We've seen those in android phones for over a year now.
...the same reason Microsoft has the lion share of the operating system market. Apple will never learn.
Well...when I can upgrade my phone next year, it will be the Galaxy SIII Quad Core phone, with whatever it's called OS, and it will still beat the pants off of anything Apple has at that time. For now, my Galaxy S rocks, and still better than an iPhoney.
Siri looks good. Once iCloud is up and running and I get to play around with iOS5, I'll make my decision.
Oh, Jobs died. The reason Android's market share is so high is because it can be used on low end devices. This in turn makes moving to the higher end devices easier.
Hardware doesn't mean shit without good software. Besides benchmarks why would anyone buy a galaxy iis over the galaxy? But I don't hear anyone complaining about that incremental update or how its been over a year since the original galaxy came out. But I do enjoy the competition. And Just for the record these are the phones I either have or have used for more than a day: atrix: great specs and accessories but the UI and it was very unreliable with regards to emails. captivate: crappy battery, nice software/UI galaxy ii: decent voice control, below average software UI (some were nice while other things we a step backwards. LG thrill: crappy battery life, nice UI and a nice screen. My IPhone4 loses the spec battle and is a tad slower when scrolling large web pages compared to the newer dual core phones but it still has a better screen(although its smaller) and the apps and the ability to find/browse apps away the competition.
Ok, I have a question then. I have an old 3G. It's slow as balls. It became that way when iOS 4 went out. I was waiting for this announcement for an upgrade. But I'd like to avoid a situation. If I buy a 4S, it will have iOS 5 on it. I wonder if the 4S will become crap at the next software upgrade. If fact, I wonder if it's a good time to upgrade.
