Just wanted to share a bit of what I've been playing with. We bought one a couple weeks ago and now I'm using it a lot. I'm going to post a second thread with fixes/tips for it but here's the gist of what I've been making:
-Plastic gear sets, "impossible" parts that you couldn't make out of metal and are only able to from building line by line vertically
    -Toys
    -Scale models of our products

And my favorite so far - replacement parts for obscure discontinued cars. You can download replacements online for some parts, but I actually made this one from scratch.

James' kewet car had a broken light holder for the signal lights. You can't buy these anymore and if you could they'd have to ship from Norway. So I made a simple holder based on the original in SolidWorks to the exact size measured with calipers. Printed in plastic using the 3d printer and installed perfectly on the 2nd try.

    86mcss says thanks for this.

Yeah, it should speed up a lot of prototyping.
