President Elect Obama is looking to change a few things....

    What about you?

For me, seeing as I live so close to the great outdoors, I want to start hiking. I used to hike Joshua Tree when I was younger. I've been out of it for a while but I still love doing it. Oh, and quit smoking again, :p

I don't make new years resolutions.

I do however, have a plan laid out for self improvement that is well on its way.

Oh, and first to say it:

Well I already did a decent job of quitting smoking weed, I've only done it a couple times in the past couple months. But now I guess step 2 is quit smoking cigs?

Just like 950, I don't really make resolutions but rather seek self improvement year round. That said, these are the items I'm working on at the moment:

    Debt reduction - $13,000 down!
Fitness / diet - exercising and eating right, other than fish I'm practically a vegetarian now.
Social - getting out more with friends.
    Marriage - trying like hell.

EDIT - Totally eliminated tobacco too. I was smoking here and there and since June finally put that to bed. Good luck Nidex, it's a bitch.

I don't believe in new years resolutions either, people always forget about them in feb/march anyways. I'm already doing mine

Stop living pay check to paycheck.
    Start saving more
    Pay off CC more
Not drop any more classes at university

MSP, did you owe like 30k in debt? Paid off 13k now? If so, that's pretty damn good. I only owe about 4200, which sucks even for me!

A little north of $36k actually, so amazingly we've still got $23k to go. That includes a decent portion of my wife's car, but still! That's what happens when you let a ding-dong woman manage your finances without oversight, so beware fellas. Anyway, I've got 18 months or so to go and we'll be back in the black. The amazing thing to me has been how we really haven't had to do without anything. We were just wasting money on stupid shit apparently.

I cleverly made a resolution to never make another new years resolution several years ago, if I ever make another new years resolution I’ll be breaking a previous one their by proving incapable of completing resolutions and making it pointless to make new ones :)

a new years resolution is almost always destine to fail anyways. if you want to change something about yourself, and your serious about it, you just do it. You don't need to wait for some special day on the calander. Things won't be any easier tomorrow then it would have been last month. Your simply delaying the change which probably means that A) you don't really want the change, and B) your probably not ready for it mentally yet.

good luck to you guys who do have them though :p

No kidding. I'm just going to school at a local university to get my degree in communications, I wont have any school debt when i'm done. If I save correctly each month, by the time I'm done I'd like to have around 15k saved up in two years, which by my calculations I should be able to do it. When I'm done with my bachelor's i'd like to go back to get the latest MCSE certificate at a tech school probably (this i'll probably have to pay for myself, which i'm ok with). I want to work for the state and have a nice decent house by the time i'm 28/30.

With child number 3 on the way, less drinking, cutting out as much fast food as I possibly can, and just trying to keep active so that my health is better overall.

Want to see all my kids having kids (when they hit 25). :D
