Genuine Windows?

    I got a windows update, and rebooted, and now windows says i dont have a genuine copy of windows, and this window pops up before windows starts up. How can i fix this?
    and dont say buy windows.

    I reformated my shit. Its all good now.

    If you reformat it will just keep asking you to reinstall the update. Here's a nice collection of methods to disable it.

    Edit: the update that does it is called "Windows Genunine Advantage Notification" or something similar.

    I turned automatic updates OFF!!! I fed up with Msoft over the security shit and especially this. I own two legit copies and this frigging pisses me off.
    And I don't trust them any longer or whatever they suggest:

    This shit has really hurt them and it may be a permantent bit of damage. I've lost all trust for them.

    It's funny how some get angry and all pissed if a company tries to prevent pirating their products.

    Friends of mine just started a small software company and they see how hard it is to earn money with the loads of work they put into it.

    It's pretty hard to pirate something that's free and doesn't place any real restrictions on copying.

    I'm not pissed at what they do, so mch as how they're doing it. I don't pirate anything. Not even if I want it real badly. Dishonesty plus dishonesty=dishonesty. Microsoft doesn't know that equation, evidently.
