BT Voyager 205.. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AGHHH

    God i hate bt..... cant play online games with this router. tried opening ports, dmz settings...just does not work. plz help....
    i cat join games, host.. when i search ip address of whoever created the game i cant even find it,,,,

    game: age of empirers the conquerers....

    plz plz help....

    Unfortunately, I have the same ISP. I always find it a bad idea to get the hardware they recommend, so if you can take it back, and get something decent, do so.

    Ok, back to your problem. Need some more details, firewalls set up, and also, what ADSL package you have... I say this because one of them states that you can't play online games etc, so I don't know whether they enforce this in the hardware they advise you to get, or server side.

    i have no firewalls, just windows one. which i have diasabled.. am running xp pro...
    there is no software which prevents me playing...
    apparently this router has an internal firewall ????? using usb. should i use ethernet ???

    what other modems do they offer???

    Umm, you don't have to get one they offer, there are plenty of others by Netgear, Linksys etc.

    But, since I assume you got it free or something, may as well try to get it to work. Ok, does it work with other games?

    As for the USB / ethernet, if you're only using one computer, I can't think of a good reason why you should change, except that I would personally choose ethernet.
