Standard politics, it amounts to a threat of intervention/rhetoric...
...but what better timing than when everyone is looking the other direction (westward in pacific). A person just has to take advantage of those opportune moments.

By the time they get around to doing anything, like the genocide in Rwanda, it will already be all over... As I said before, Egypt was really a special case, as was Tunesia before it. All other protesters are getting their asses handed to them. In bloody chunks.

I don't care for Obama, but I was OK will him holding back on this a little. All the venom and hate towards us for removing Saddam, and now they're clamoring for us to intervene in Libya? You can't have it both ways, we're the world police or we aren't.

Exclude Italy, England, and Spain from that. They supported us, and even sent troops. Germany isn't going along with this Libya adventurism, so at least they're consistent! The only one with egg on their face is FRANCE! Vive La Freedom Fries!

Maybe it's simply a matter of waiting for the right timing. With Qaddafi, he's crazy enough, all you have to do is give him a long enough piece of rope and he'll hang himself. We do have assets in the vicinity.

Well the rhetoric is heating up, Obama is saying now that Libya needs to comply or face "military action". Here we go again...

because we don't have enough wars or military action in the middle east already.

Apparently, we will be acting as "support and assistance" for the French and British forces this time around. Translated, that means we will be doing AWACS air-traffic-control, and in-flight refueling (with our aging fleet of tankers, that STILL don't have a replacement being cranked out), and possibly cruise-missiles and maybe drones-with-attitude...
