    I recently bought Megastick 511.
My problem is the following, I downloaded the following firmware update from MSI's official site: ms5511V3.0.6withFM.zip
Then, following the instructions in the manual, I pressed the button when connection the player to the computer.
Without releasing it, I openend the device window at system and saw the Recovery something device was listed.
So I realeased the button, unzipped the files in the firmware's zip file and overwrited the files on the MSI program's folder.
Then, loaded the update program, saw that the version of the firmware to be installed was newer than the one on the player, so I proceded with the update, with the format option enabled.

After the proccess finished, without any visible errors, the mp3 showed "connected" on the display.
I disconected it (via software first), reconnected it and nothing, windows didn't detected, the mp3 was dead, nothing on the display.

I reconected it with the "play" button pressed.
    Nothing.
Tried on another USB, on another pc, both times with and without pressing the button, and nothing.
    Changed the battery even.
    Totally dead.

Can anyone PLEASE help me solve this problem? I don't wanna lose all the money I used on this beauty.
    Thanks.

First off, welcome, second, wrong forum: http://www.tweak3d.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=3

Third, did you follow these directions exactly, removing the battery before flashing the firmware. On a sidenote, I wouldn't buy a product when the English instructions are so poorly written.
Fourth, contact MSI if there official firmware damaged your device, they should replace it for free.

    In before lock!

But yeah, contact the vendor as you are screwed.

I didn't remove the batteries, but I never do when connecting to USB.
Do you think that not removing the batery fucked my mp3 player?

I would say it is most likely possible. "...please don't put battery when update firmware"
