http://www.gamespot.com/titanfall-2/ I really liked this game but largely agree that it got repetitive. The online gameplay started out strong, but fell off both in interest and number of players. Will Titanfall 2 improve and flesh out progression and customization in a meaningful way? One of the most prevalent criticisms of the first Titanfall was that it didn't have enough meaningful player progression. The number of weapons and items wasn't terribly high, and many players felt that the most effective abilities and guns were unlocked very early on. This created an issue for Titanfall--how do you keep people playing? [emphasis mine] I'm sorry, but What the FUCK? I'm one of these people who is not a big fan of leveling in online shooter games. That the leveling in Titanfall was mild was to me a good thing, not a bad thing. There was a fair amount of customization for some important aspects of the game, which provides variety and obviates the need for leveling some. You got to choose primary and secondary weapons, your Titan gun and special power, etc. You keep people playing by making the game fun, you big fucking dummies!!
I shelled out $59 for this Friday night. It's a 27gb download and installs to something like 36gb. This one has an SP mission. I've done the tutorial thingy and a tiny bit of the SP, and so far I'm very impressed. I haven't even done a mech yet.
Lovin' this game so far. Haven't played a ton online, but there is a lot more variety in the Titans than the first game. E.g., one's special ability is to VTOL hover.
Interesting. I play a few minutes of the trial of the first one and my interest has perked. Now that I have a new lap board for playing from the couch, might ACTUALLY be able to play games. Just don't tell my wife.
