Long story short, I got hit in the head right in my occipital, and its the worst concussion I've ever had.. hospital says I'm fine, but they say no computers/texting/sex/anything physical for a month.. well I've kind of broken that rule since I am getting better, but I still have the slight dizziness and fatigue/short memory once in a while any of you guys have experience with concussions?
Quite a few of them, as a matter of fact. I've had my share of car wrecks before airbags, falls, accidents and fights. It takes quite awhile to recover from.
There's a reason athletes get ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). I'm not saying you're gonna get ALS, but concussions aren't a joke, and I would try to take it as seriously as possible.
Fuck no.I'm not one to give up living in order to feel safe. I just walked it off and kept going. I did take it a bit easy for the first few days though. don't get me wrong. Concussions are serious, but you have to separate the medical industry's hyperbole/scare tactics from reality. In essence: they're bad, but not as life threatening as some would have you believe. There is definitely a need to get them checked out, but listen to the ER guys and not the media BS. Just watch TV.....in the evening, 3/4 of the ads are for RX and med insurance/healthcare. There's big dollars associated with scaring the public into thinking they can cheat death or pain. When in fact the USA has some of the lousiest healthcare of any developed nation.
i tried to avoid going to the hospital cause i can't afford it, and i've been there for concussions before, but this one still has been lingering on and off, so i went.. of course they did the same drill as before, and told me to do absolutely nothing but sleep for like 16 hours a day.. but yeah i'm gonna just take your advice, and hopefully i get better in a month or two, just taking things a bit easier, cept school
