Sorry man, I am testing new forum software and it was really hard to sync the two databases and still be able to customize it. I can roll back the forum in a few hours if people want me to. I wanted to try this different system.
This is a great project! When you said you wanted to modernize the car I had the same ideas with the Porsche wheels and seats! Why not throw a modern Porsche engine/teams in as well as a FMIC in the front? I think the classic looks with the performance and SOUND (I'm sure Dan could help with this in one way or another) would blow people's minds. Anyway, good luck, take lots of pics ;even of what you think is mundane) and post it up with details. This is gonna be kick add!
I have a nice set of those same seats that I'm going to put in my 912. I think I paid only $300 for them. One is perfect and the other I had to take to an upholstery shop to fix a rip. It was another $100 or so. They look great, they're pretty lightweight too.
Nice! I haven't sat in them but I wanted something that felt like it would hold you in a turn and not feel like you were sitting in a recliner.
I don't have pics of mine on here. Mine look 90%+ now though, you can't see where it was fixed (it was along an edge, just re-stitched anyway). There's a big Porsche swap meet coming up @ Parts Heaven. But Craigslist is where a lot of those deals are at. I see so much good stuff closer where you're living but rarely go that far for anything now.

What do you guys think of this interior? With some tweaks I could see it fitting well with the interior space in the ghia.
