Lower crime rates because of abortion. Specifically linked to abortion? Horseshit. I would still like to see the stats on how many women dropped out of Georgetown because they did the right thing after becoming pregnant. Where are those numbers? Where are the abortion numbers? The young lady mind you started this, not me or anyone else.

This isn't an abortion issue. This is a pregnancy prevention issue. Hell, this prevents abortions from even being necessary.

Also, obligatory lol at "doing the right thing".

Crime rates were lower after legalized abortion, the data is there. Could it be a gigantic coincidence? Sure. But if I were a betting man my money would be on it being the cause of the reduction.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legalized_abortion_and_crime_effect

I could dig around and find data for Smersh's thing too but I really don't give a shit. My point was just that you were backed into a corner on that topic and should just move on.

Just pay for what you want. Simple as that. You want Viagra.....pay for it. You want The Pill......pay for it. You want to screw.........dammit YOU pay for the consequences! Not the rest of us, the the university or, the people in your insurance plan. Why is that too much to ask? Show some self control if you can't afford the outcome. Do you like this post czechrboard tassia? Does it really sound that unreasonable? I'm actually mad while writing this because I and others have to pay for something that is a frigging choice. Why not cover Ice Cream Sundaes because little kids REALLY WANT that ice cream so we shouldn't deny them that luxury. It's like asking the insurance company to cover make up or, having hardwood floors as opposed to carpet or, Blu Ray vs. DVD or, Taco Bell vs. food stamps. If you want to play, you pay. It's that simple. Why do I have to help pay for your BC? Keep it in your pants if it's too expensive for you to get it on. JESUS you needy people are killing our economy. If sex is that important, quit school and get a part time job or a full time job depending on your labedo. We are in one of the worst economic times since Carter or The Depression and you want lube, covered? Fuck off. End Rant.

    Wiki.....really?

    Birth control pills = cheap.
Prenatal care and babies = expensive.

Ideologically I agree with you, but in practical and realistic terms it's cheaper for everybody to give whores free birth control pills. Like it or not, agree with it or not, the whores and their babies are going to be in our ERs and clinics putting a strain on public health dollars. Sometimes ideology has to give way to reality.

As a person without adequate healthcare coverage I can talk of realistic health care dollars spending. My wife has an ache in her abdomen, that takes precidence over my chronic back pain getting fixed, or need for new glasses and bad teeth corrected. She gets the 1600 dollar catscan. There's no money for anything else until there's money for anything else. Prioritizing is what we have to do. That is the reallity without insurance. It would seem to me that if so many of our GDP dollars goes out to healthcare ( http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5813a5.htm ) that there should be some sort of limits on what dictates an insuraance carrier can make as well as how much they can bilk from the public. Thus far all they get from us is a blank check. The emphasis should be on prevention, but is it really? Is there really a will to prevent the need for major medical proceedures?

Again, are you skimming? My whole argument has been FOR covering things that people can't help. Hypertension, Migraines etc.......meds should be covered. If a woman needs the pill for a medical reason other than BC.......cover it. I have no problem with that. I'm against covering life choices! You either don't read or don't get it man. No one chooses to have Migraines, High Blood Pressure, Cancer, Broken Bones, Car Accidents, and so forth. People choose to have sex. JUST PAY FOR THE PILL AND RUBBERS if you want to fool around. Do I have to pay for your gas? "Well you know, he/she is gonna drive anyway."

Who is saying condoms need to be paid for? You can't just make up shit to try and validate your argument. As has been said already, there are plenty of medical reasons for birth control, specifically the pill.

" You either don't read or don't get it man. No one chooses to have Migraines, High Blood Pressure, Cancer, Broken Bones, Car Accidents, and so forth"

Every single one of those options are preventable. Do you think it's cheaper and smarter to pay for accidents or do you think it's cheaper and smarter to pay for things that decrease the likelyhood of those accidents from happening in the first place?

Agreed, but the government is not trustworthy enough to plop it in their laps. I don't realistically see anything getting better under the present model. The sollution? IDK other than just not playing the game. Which is what i have to do out of lack of any other option other than letting the taxpayer pick up my tab. That's not going to happen, I'm way too stubborn for that.

A lot of those are life choices. Wreckless driving, poor diet/lack of exercise, dangerous liefestyles (sports, extreme hobbies, general stupidity) can all attributed to the things you mentioned. Medical coverage should cover you regardless of why you need it.

I can maybe agree with women paying slightly higher rates to offset the costs, but even that is pretty unnecessary. A Depo-Provera shot lasts 12 weeks and costs $35-75 (http://www.plannedparenthood.org/he...trol/birth-control-shot-depo-provera-4242.htm). I'm pretty sure a Type 2 diabetic who ate his way into diabetes (life choice!!!!!) is going to pay more in 1 year than birth control would cost in a lifetime.

This, except fuck Depo, that shit will mess a girl up physically and mentally.

State universal healthcare. Federal general standards but state fine-tuning, regulation and maintenance. Mississippi is going to take a far different approach to healthcare than Colorado, different lifestyles, etc. The Feds are going to need to step in to help subsidize stuff in poorer and more rural states but that's already happening with roads, schools, and other things.

Kind of like some state on the east coast that this really rich dude is from who's running for president.

LOL... we're talking about Tacdriver. Are you not familiar with him, MSP?

    Exactly!

Are you saying you're mad because taxes help people you feel are undeserving? Should I be mad at my insurance company because the money I voluntarily pay them could go towards helping an obese smoker with a heart condition? I mean, he could've chosen to eat healthy, exercise, and not smoke.

I gotta say I agree with MSP on the whole "birth control is cheaper than mass amounts of babies" thing. Many things look good on paper. It's when you apply to real life that they don't work.

Yep. I may not agree with keeping lazy people on the dole on principle, but if the choice is between doing that or having them out there committing crimes, I'll take the former.
