12:01 on the 22nd is when I'd like to be standing amongst a group of these weirdos. The backpedaling and denial would be hilarious to see in real time.

In reply to MSP's post: They've already gone through that once. That preacher will just "recalculate" again. And again. And again.

What if the Devil is actually a Freedom Fighter, battling the oppressive autocracy of an Evil Dictator God, instead of the Terrorist that God's Fanatical Followers say he is! :D

I'd better start running now, to get away from the angry mob of fanatics that will want to burn me to death as a Heretic and Blasphemer!

Oh yeah, I've seen this cycle repeat my whole life. In fact when I was a little kid my religious wacko cousin scared me to death predicting the end of the world. When you're 4 years old you believe people and I was legitimately scared.

HA! There needs to be a group to show up at their rapture event, telling them "we're just here to get the free clothes, after you go!" :D

I mean.. the joke is funny and all but you guys do know that they don't believe they'll just ascend right then and there into heaven, right? The "real rapture" (rapture isn't ever even mentioned in the Bible) isn't supposed to be a quick affair.

And shit.. God supposedly created the earth in 6 days (which in God time would probably be like 600,000,000 years) . So the "end of days" thing is probably a pretty long and drawn out process :)

I think on Sunday I'll wake up really early just to run around covered in fake blood and satanic runes painted on my naked body.

You need a youtube video for that one, voiced over by Cave Johnson of Rapertor Science!

"...I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. [35] Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."

    From that article
Some have translated the coming of Christ as Heaven coming down to earth and if you aren't BFF's with Jesus then you get the boot.

It's totally legit guys. I was taking a walk the other day and a burning bush told me so. Then a snake popped out of an apple tree and confirmed it. Also, the next day I woke up in a bath tub full of ice and I'm pretty sure I'm missing a rib.

Doesn't this fly in the face of the whole "the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him" part of the Bible?

Yep. The Bible itself says that no one knows when J-Money will return except God himself.

Meanwhile, all those rapturees can throw their life savings my way. They certainly won't be needing it come the 22nd.

Actually, the rapture (not using that term) was mentioned in the Bible.

Also there was Enoch who was translated but not necessarily "raptured".

Lastly, you do understand that most "Christians" don't believe this May 21st garbage right? They believe in the rapture but as the Bible states, only God himself knows the time...

if they dont believe it, why allow it to happen amongst their "peers"? Why allow all this money to be funneled into advertising such an ignorant idea?
and if they disagree with their "peers", theyre disagreeing with their faith and the bible.
alot of money is being spent on this "warning" to the masses.

these people need to be taxed. give back to the community other than brainwashing people and buidling an addition to your already multibillion dollar megachurch.

instead fellow churches allow this hoopla to continue... why? because theyre scared. theyre scared to call these people out in fear of retaliation.
and we all know how aggressive and dangerous these people are when it comes to defending their "beliefs"

ive asked so many "oh so holy people" about this rapture shit.. they hang their head in shame of embarrassment, or act like they dont know what it is.. its sad.

from my perspective ALREADY and alot of "christians" will say the same thing.. theres too many differing ideas that revolve around christianity, enough to cause a fucking internal american religious war AMONGST christians themselves.
thats how dangerous this shit is. alot of ignorance and manipulation going on for wealth... and people are willing to die/kill over it.

Are you for real? Extremists exist in every form of faith. "All this money"... I've seen one billboard for a talk radio station and it seems to me to be aiming to strike debate since it's for an "open forum" show rather than seriously advertising the date of the coming of Christ.

As for "disagreeing with the Bible". The Bible doesn't give a date for the "rapture". We have already been through this.

Sometimes I wonder if your "anti-religion hat" is made with more tin-foil than Wiskas' "conspiracy hat".

Besides, even if they do believe this stuff, how is it hurting you?

Isn't it obvious? I've got a stitch in my side from laughing so hard! ;) It's very painful!

It's true. There are idiot extremists everywhere, religious and political. Some are just more obviously idiotic than others...

I like how this has taken on a meme quality all it's own. I don't personally believe in a "rapture", however, I do believe in something along the lines of an accention into a higher state. Whether it be we as the human race, or ourselves individually. i don't believe that it's a matter of strictly either/or but a mixture of both. I want to add, I don't believe we graduate this Saturday. Skynet isn't ready yet .
I run various scenarios about ELE's or near ELE's through my gray matter and some of what is produced would make a great movie.

after everyone that's going gets raptured the leftovers get :
