Hopefully it does some good. Like 60% (made up number) was written by the health care industry... so I'm sure it is full of BS and giveaways. But here is to hoping he helps.
In the end, it'll mean little to us and benefit industry somehow. If things follow thier usual coarse, that will happen and/or things will definately get fucked up and then fuct-upper.
...and just a month ago we were talking about this: Obama team makes it official: Budget deficit hits record. By a lot. - The Oval: Tracking the Obama presidency Polls show an overwhelming majority is AGAINST health care reform, but that's fine because Washington doesn't represent the people anymore. They represent the lobbyists. I wonder where the President thinks these numbers are going to be if this passes the Senate:
They're alienating a lot of independents and fiscally conservative Democrats. The trouble is that by the time the mid-term elections happen and the massive flush takes place, the genie will already be out of the bottle and we'll be stuck with it. Oh well, guess we'll just have to hope for the best at this point.
That's all I can hope for. After hearing my brother in law's response to all this I was even more discouraged about the reform...oh well.
Businesses will no longer need to pay for part/all of employees health care. We will be paying for 100% of our own health care now in the form of higher taxes. Uhh yea I believe the way it works is a bill needs to be passed by the House and the Senate and then signed by the president before becoming law.
But Obama said health care reform was one of his biggest goals as president, and he got elected... so it's not like he mislead anyone. eh. Edit:
Eh I dunno, I'm pretty fiscally conservative, but in the long term I think it's a good investment for the country. Having a healthy contented working lower class I think would lead to more stability amongst that population; less crime, more personal investment in education etc. If they know that they'll at least have decent healthcare, they may be more inclined to make something of themselves.
