no experience and more conservative than mccain...i hope the hillary supporters are more intelligent than that...
Finally, a tax cut that I will get! Bill Gates, Roger Barnett, and the other exceedingly well-off guys don't need it. I do! Gogo Socialists!
Trust me guys, girl power is going to make a big difference here. I think we all know a lot of bull-dyke feminists, plus just average women. You think they're going to pass up voting for a woman to be in the Whitehouse? Hell no. Will it draw 100% of the women voters? Hell no. But significant enough numbers to make a big difference.
Seriously, all you people seriously talking about socialism need to move to Canada already. It's not what our nation was founded on, and frankly I don't know of a single example of it working well in the long term. Embrace capitalism comrades!
They won't be for my income bracket:unibrow:. They are at 30% right now. 1/3 of that is SS (tax) that I will never live long enough to benefit from, unlike our undocumented workers from the south. Out of 40 years of paying into this , so called, account I will not see one penny of it. I do not care if it's a democrat's or republican's fault that this is the way it is, the fact is i'll not benefit from any of the money put aside in my account. if you make over 85,000 a year, you'll get slammed with any of the new taxes that either side will blast the taxpayer with. if you think there'll be "no new taxes" from a McC presidency, it's time to stop watching cartoons and start tuning into the news. Debt to the Penny (Daily History Search Application).....$9,650,327,577,961.59. And eight years ago to the day: the number was: $5,676,995,228,067.60.
There are two ways to tackle a debt and increasing taxes is one of them. The alternative is to cut services. I'll take the latter.
You must have a really low opinion of women to think they will vote for someone because they are of the same sex.
Not at all. It hasn't even been 100 years since they've been granted the right to vote, and there are still all sorts of discrimination, wage inequalities, and negative gender roles. All I'm saying is that the desire to further women's causes runs very deep in most of them. I don't have a low opinion, I just understand them to a certain degree.
I don't think any will end up being cut. It's too hard politically to do so. I think most likely there will be an increase which will just pile on more debt.
Every administration adds more debt it cannot be stopped except if the country goes bankrupt. Every administration/congress has "pet projects" Republicans want this and Democrats want that they will do whatever it takes to get them done. It goes back and forth every time we have a changing of the guards and nothing average folks say or do will change this.
Wait a minute. You must have a really low opinion of blacks and whites as well shane. I don't know for sure if you believe this but the argument I've been reading for months now in papers and online and even here is that Obama will have the majority of the black vote because of his race and, a lot of whites won't vote for him because he's black. So the woman argument makes sense.
Hey, laugh all you want. But I have a house full of females and work with a ton of them. I'm like Jane Goodall, except instead of gorillas I'm studying women.
Black people, maybe, white people no. It has more to do with education and the opportunities different races get and the importance of education placed upon the black community from within is not as high as it is for white females. One could also say the same thing about Latinos. Then again there are a lot of stupid people in this county, of all colors!
Uh, unless someone here is making over 603K a year, we don't really have anything to worry about... Thanks McCain for the great tax reduction of $113 for 19K-38K incomes!
Heh, we know these "numbers" are BS especially when we start to negotiate. Anyway, where are all of the HOT Palin pics? This thread sucks without pics!
I think this pick by McCain is pretty transparent. He's basically using her vagina for votes. I think it belittles women more by assuming that they'll just vote for anything that pee's sitting down. Any woman that was going to vote for Hillary but opts for the McCain ticket simply because it has a woman on it saddens me. Even if McCain was picking a woman for the sake of picking a woman, wasn't there one more qualified? It's not a far fetched idea that McCain might croak in office. I think with McCain's age and health history, you have to look at Palin more as a presidential candidate than a vp one. Anywho, I hope this backfires for the McCain camp. There's still plenty of time to get to know Palin more and see what other skeletons come out of her closet.
So in the event McCain should die or fall ill she'd be sitting in the Whitehouse all by herself playing with her Barbies or something? I've seen a few of her speeches / interviews at this point, and she seems pretty on the ball to me. Plus a vice president would be nominated to assist her. I'm quite sure the party would provide someone with experience to fill any potential gaps. I'm telling you, for all those preaching about change Palin represents a real breath of fresh air.
Voting Obama gives me an extra 600+ in my pocket. I also like the idea of untying health insurance from employment. I wouldn't mind universal dental, either! (My tooth is hurting right now, and I can't afford to do anything about it without doing something drastic like selling my car.) Folks in Europe may pay a lot more in taxes, but they sure GET a lot more back for it, too. The last two posts on this thread prove my "rousing oratory" thesis above...
