After watching his press conference this morning it's clear he has no new ideas and doesn't know what the hell he's doing. In fact he's been screwing up for years now. I have noticed the heated debates we've had over this president have turned fairly cold lately. Not hearing all of the know-it-all tough talk we used to hear so much just a short time ago.

Soooooooo what are your thoughts on this American administration? As always don't hold back. LOL

Voted for him twice, am pretty conservative. But the reality for me? At this point I wish I had voted for Al Gore! I also voted for Clinton twice, and I never saw any of this bullshit... NEXT!

It should be pretty obvious. I'm 20 years old, I should fall into that "rebellious, hates the president with a passion but for no solid reason" category.

I'm just counting down till the next election. I'm also watching the new congress very closely to see if they will be actually walking the walk or if they are all talk.

I've never paid this much attention to politics before but I'll be damned if I let this shit happen again!

Right now everyone seems to be screaming Obama but I've never heard of this guy till three months ago, what has he done? Or do people like him because he is a cracker black?

Hell if I know why he's so popular, still don't know what he stands for. It's too soon to get excited about 2008 except if you want to get rid of Bush. LOL

I don't hate the guy. He's just doing the best job he's capable of. Which it seems, is less and less all the time. People give too much thought, that the prez has all the power. Shit, in this day and age, not even the congress has the power. He who has the money, makes the rules. So, All these do-nothing politions are doing is simply what they are told to do (or not do). None of that is going to change after the vote in '08.

He let Iraq slip through his fingers and now has no idea how to fix it.

Instead of passifying Iraq, he tried to weasel out of it early without a real "victory". The resistance/insurgancey smelt blood and they can hold out a lot longer than we can taking heavier losses because of the public's weak stomach.

Intelligence failures got us into Iraq and will failures are what is getting our troops killed. I mean, who else would not raid a religous building (mosque, temple, etc) despite KNOWING enemies are not only hiding there, but storing supplies and firing/lauching attackes from it because "we don't wish to offend". FUCK THAT! We should weakness early and its getting our boys killed and THAT is not worth dying for. Bring them home and let the idiots over there who want to tear into each other do it.

Putting the war in Iraq aside, altogether I just want to move to another country. Lately some of the things that have been happening in our country make me uncomfortable. I feel like the government is trying to tell us how to live our lives, ie the smoking ban, all the net neutrality stuff, wire taps, etc etc.

While democracy seems to be a good form of government, I don't think its perfect. I think one of the flaws lies with uneducated voters. I don't have a better solution, thats just how I feel.

hes photogenic and is a good speaker. Those are two reasons I have personally heard come from peoples mouths on why they would vote for him. NOT a WORD on his political views. which is very sad.

HAHAHA. Every time I hear him speak, I cringe at the new Bushisms in the making. It really shows how dumb the typical American is if that's the factor to win their vote.

My view is that he couldn't leave the ofice fast enough to make me happy. I've given serious thought about moving out of the country because of him. The only reason I stick around is because I'm still going to school and I have my band. The choices his office makes continue to boggle my mind, especially the handling of this war.

Than get the hell out of here. If they are so much better, move there. I quite honestly don't care either way... It would make me feel quite better to help protect those who appreciate what I do.

I am just tired of people bitching about everything this country ever does, yet never attempting to make their own lives better. If you are going to complain that this country is worthless, and isn't good for anyone, just fucking leave. Then you can be supportive of the government you feel is right. You will quickly realize how good this country really is.

Ditto. If you feel the country in which you live is deficient in some way then:

    1) Contribute and work towards making things better.
    2) Get the fuck out.

Anything else is just being a useless crybaby.

I am contributing and I will say there are better countries than ours, Sweden comes to mind.

We can yell and scream how great america is and how it can do no wrong (sounds like a certain president I know) but unless we face facts, this country will continue to go down the drain.

Those that fail to change are bound to fail;)

A lot of issues I can almost put the blame squarely on the 109th congress, all of them! Bush has made a lot of mistakes but had they done their job, the impact of those mistakes could have been minimized.

In the last 4-5 years this country has stooped AS low if not lower than any "terrorist" middle eastern country or any part of Bush's beloved "axis of evil".

America used to be the best country in the world, sure... Back when we actually did things that made our country unique and worth dying for.

You obviously do, if you typed out another paragraph after that statement explaining why you care.

Like I said, you're a military man. You get paid to get your brain shat all over, so there's no point in arguing with that. I never said I didn't appreciate what you do. On the flip side to that, every military man/woman I've ever met is an arrogant prick who thinks I owe them a thank you or a hug for being in the military. Go do something I WANT for this country and you'll get your fucking thank you. But if you think I'm going to be appreciative of todays wars and todays military, you're dead wrong.

The country in which we live was created by the actions of our fathers, and I'll be the first to admit that they must have fucked up pretty bad! But only we can make things better now. Simply saying "America sux!" and then slinking off to smoke a joint and play Xbox isn't going to help matters. So what can each of us do?

    1) Strive for excellence in everything you do. Get better grades, work harder at your job, treat your family and friends with respect, conduct yourself with honor and pride, etc.

    2) Don't settle for anything other than excellence from those around you. Your coworkers are slacking off? Call them on it. You get lousy service at a restaurant? Speak to a manager. Somebody pulls a dangerous stunt on the highway? Report it to the police.

A code of ethics, standards of excellence, that is what we need to turn things around. Nowadays we live in a culture where everybody is a "winner" so nobody strives to actually be one! Fat kids shouldn't make the basketball team and ignorant, lazy people shouldn't get diplomas! We can all make a difference if we just try; it starts in the little things.

To begin with, WE NEVER WENT INTO IRAQ TO DEFEAT TERRORISM!!! That is the biggest misconception of all... On the military level, we went into Iraq to defeat Sadaam Hussein. We just used 9-11 as a political reason to do so.

I know for a fact that noone can honestly tell me that he should still be in power.

Next, you have a grave misunderstanding of what I was speaking of. I am saying that if you don't support our country, get out. It does not matter to me if those who dislike our country stay here of leave. THAT AND THAT ALONE is what I could care less about.

Next, who in the hell gave you the idea that I am arrogent? I am one of the most honest, giving people that most anyone on this forum has ever met. I will give EVERYTHING I own to make anyone's life I can more comfortable. I am trusting to anyone who I meet (as long as they don't give me a reason to not trust them). Just ask Ali (lent him my $250 TV Colorimeter, no charge) or maybe some of the other people that I have given items to from this forum. I will give anything (including my life) to anyone who wants me to do so.

Now, you are saying that we have stooped as low as the country can possibly go? Why not look at the Bay of Pigs. Have you ever heard of that? JFK was responsible for payment in excess of $53 million just to cover up his tracks, and return those who were taken prisoner.

Another example, is look at the Viet Nam war. We had far more casualties (well over 57,000 military personnel) and had far worse protests afterwards. Who was the president throughout the majority of the war? Lyndon B. Johnson. Hmm.... The Democrats aren't perfect either, are they?

Now, what do you expect of those of us in the military? What should we do to earn your respect?

Lastly, have I ever asked for anything from anyone of this forum? I have never openly requested gratitude for my job. I have never seriously complained about the hours I work, or what I do.

I don't mind to be criticized about what I say. I don't mind those who disagree with me. BUT, I do seriously have a problem with those who openly attack me. You have no right to do so... You might not understand what I stand for, or why I think as I think, but DO NOT make assumptions on me based on other people you know.

    Always remember:
I might not agree with what you say, but I will happily GIVE MY LIFE so you can continue to speak your opinion.

I don't think saddam was worse than any number of other leaders in the world.

In fact, my guess is that if saddam had stayed in power and died in power there would have been a civil war anyway to find the next leader of iraq. The difference being that the iraqi people would have been fighting for their freedom instead of us fighting for their freedom. And it probably would have caused less internal infrastructure damage which would have made the rebuilding process easier.

But hey, who the hell knows what would have happened had we not taken out saddam. One thing I do know though, is that we are currently stuck in a huge mess, with many Americans dieing and a ton of money being spent as well as wasted and unaccounted for with no real, solid plan for victory.

And thats the issue I have with bush, he doesn't amount to shit! When asked whether or not we are winning the he hesitated and stammered like a little bitch who's abusive boyfriend was standing behind her while the cops question her about her black eye! If you don't have the balls to answer a simple question and answer honestly, then you aren't qualified to run this country and you aren't qualified to say who and where our troops should be!

Bush is the type of guy who will talk shit to your face and when you go to punch him he lets his friends jump in and beat your ass but when its just you and him he is a fucking baby talking about how he saved you from getting your ass beat by his friends because he stopped the fight.

Sorry for the rant but there is no one person other than bush that has done so much harm to the US and to the world and there is no other person except bush that had such a huge opportunity to do so much good for the US and for the world.
